3D Printing for Machine Parts

Additive manufacturing is revolutionising mechanical engineering. With 3D printing, highly complex machine parts with optimised material properties can be produced that would be impossible to manufacture conventionally.

  • Cost-effective production of prototypes and end-use parts
  • Optimised component geometry for reduced material usage
  • Shortened development and production times
Prototyping with 3D printing

Prototyping

3D printing is ideal for prototyping in mechanical engineering, enabling the rapid and cost-effective production of functional prototypes. Different design variants can be tested and optimised with minimal effort.

  • Functional prototypes with high precision
  • Rapid iterations and design adjustments
  • High-performance materials for real-world stress tests
3D printed small batch production

Small Batch Production

In addition to prototyping, 3D printing in mechanical engineering also offers small-batch production capabilities. This is particularly useful for customised solutions or special orders.

  • Cost-effective production of small quantities
  • High flexibility for design changes
  • Reduced storage costs thanks to on-demand production

Tooling and Spare Parts

3D printing technologies are ideal for producing tools and spare parts that can be manufactured precisely, quickly and on-demand in single units.

  • Custom manufacturing of tools and spare parts
  • Fast delivery times and flexible production volumes
  • Elimination of warehousing through on-demand production

From CAD model to finished component

Three steps to your 3D-printed engineering part.

01

Design Data Analysis

We review your CAD data for 3D printing suitability and provide optimisation tips, considering material strength, precision and cost requirements.

02

3D Model Preparation

Based on supplied CAD data or our own designs, we create high-precision 3D models optimised for printing. We also assist with complex part and assembly design.

03

3D Printing & Delivery

After final approval, we start production immediately. Thanks to fast turnaround times, you can expect delivery of your 3D print within just a few days.

Key Facts about 3D Printing in Engineering

Everything you need to know – at a glance.

CAD Data

We need 3D volume data for printing. Preferred formats are .stl or .step. We check your data for feasibility free of charge.

Material Variety

Over 50 different materials are available – from plastics and high-performance polymers to metals.

Tolerances

Depending on the process, we achieve tolerances of ±0.1mm. For maximum precision, we recommend SLS or MJF.

Component Size

We produce parts up to approx. 700 x 700 x 1900 mm in one piece. Larger parts are manufactured in multiple sections.

Express Production

Small components can be express-manufactured and delivered within 48 hours. Standard delivery within one working week.

Post-Processing

We offer various finishing options on request: sanding, dyeing, painting, thread cutting and more.
